Unable to add additional mesh hubs to existing Google Wi-Fi Mesh network

kchendricks

I have an established Google Wi-Fi Mesh network with three hubs.  I just purchased an additional three hubs (same gen), and tried using Google Home app on my iPhone to add the first new hub, but am not having any success.  I expected this to an easy seamless process (per Google’s own advertising), but am not getting anywhere through their process.
Short of resetting the entire network and having to build it up anew (which I really want to avoid), are there any other suggestions/options available?

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks.

I ended up calling Google support.  They had me initialize the new mesh hub points using an ethernet cable connected to my original main point.  It worked, but required a series of me deleting the Google Home App and reinstalling in on my iPhone because evidently it can get bogged down with the process of adding a hub to the network.  Ultimately I got what I needed, but it was NOT as seamless a process as Google makes it out to be.

What have you tried and what errors do you get?

Are you using the same Google account and adding to the same Google Home home as your existing devices?

Are all devices, old and new, made for the exact same region/ country? Mixing is not possible/ working due to difference in Wi-Fi regulations (frequencies, strength etc.) in different regions.

I don't work for Google.
