Unable to change Google Wifi LAN IP

JayDeeDaz
Community Member

Hi,

Google Wifi (second gen) isn't accepting a new LAN IP. There aren't any error messages when I save, but when I go back into LAN IP settings, it reverts back to the previous settings. I've restarted and reset, but no different.

Has anyone else seen this?

What are you trying to change it to?

I don't work for Google.

What you are trying to set is considered a global IP address.

LAN IP addresses in general must be RFC 1918 compliant.

But I agree that there should be a better error message on this, or even some validation in the app itself.

And maybe Google documentation could've mentioned this as well.

Thanks for reaching out Jeff. I wanted that range as it what I was using on my old router, but if that's not available, then no worries. Thanks for the help!
