I am trying to add my google wifi as additional point to my google nest wifi but the google wifi become a new separate network instead of joining the mesh.
It was working perfectly well previously. However, there i just renovated my house and there was a change in fibre optic cable. As i thought there was a problem with my google mesh, i went to factory reset all points. Thus, now i’m having issues adding the additional google wifi points to the mesh.

Make sure you have no VPN enabled/ connected; not any 3rd party product, nor the "Apple iCloud Private Relay" ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212614 ).
Make sure the Google Home app has been granted permission for "local network access" ( https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7172427?hl=en ).
IPv6 on Nest Wifi has caused strange problems lately. One thing to try is to disable IPv6 ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6361450?hl=en ), add new Nest Wifi unit, then leave IPv6 off or enable it again.

I’ve managed to set the mesh up after open Google Home on my ipad instead of the iphone. Surprisingly it worked for all wifi points. So i’m not sure what went wrong when i was trying to set up the mesh.

Hey folks,
Thanks for the useful links, olavrb.
Gerichristelle, your iPhone’s software might not be updated resulting in setup issues, but it's good to hear that you were able to set up your Google Nest Wifi network on your iPad. Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns, we’d love to help.
Best regards,
Mel
