I had a working google WIFI before I did a factory reset. Yes, I have performed all the required routines including updating HOME to the latest version. Is it possible to download a new firmware version and install it manually? I'm quite familiar with installing firmware on IOT devices. I can see that it's latched on to IP: 192.168.84.21. Perhaps that a default.
Is there any hope for this device?

Hi indylmc,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation you are experiencing with connecting the Google WiFi device to your home. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry; help is here.
First of all, let me explain that you can't manually install a specific Nest Wifi version. Instead, Nest Wifi devices, including routers and points, automatically update their firmware when new versions are available.
About the setup process after the factory reset, could you please tell me what other steps you tried to solve the situation?
Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.
Best regards,
Jenny

Automatic firmware updates is a bad policy to have, I work in the automotive industry and we never do that because sometimes there are bugs that get past validation. And in this situation Google's update has a bug in the Wi-Fi module on my nest and it will not connect to any network I even checked using my mobile hotspot in 2.4 GHz and 5 gigahertz modes. I'm still trying to figure out a way to get a hold of someone in Google so they can replace my nest since the update broke it
