We have two google nest wifi units and want to add a third; what do we order?

WE HAVE ORDERED AND RECEIVED A NEST WIFI ROUTER... DO WE NEED TO RETURN THIS AND ORDER A DIFFERENT DEVICE TO ADD A THIRD UNIT TO OUR SYSTEM?

Hello @MOISE

The Nest WiFi Router unit you received can be added to an existing system as if it was a "Point", but it is more expensive than a Nest WiFi Point or Google WiFi unit. So, you can keep what you have and tell the Google Home app you're trying to add a Nest WiFi Point, or you can return it and purchase a Nest WiFi Point or Google WiFi unit.

DON'T DO IT!!! Look at the all of the comments related to these devices flaking out and dropping your connections randomly throughout the day. Going to return mine and go with a mesh network that actually works.

You can add another router or a point, up to you.  Keep in mind, the routers have Ethernet ports, but the points don't.  However, the points have mics and speakers, and the routers don't.

we have not had problems with our system and just want to add another "point" in another bedroom at other side of the house: the router is in the middle between both ends of our house

I also have the nest system, one router and two points.  Love the points because of the assistant speakers!

Hi, MOISE.

It looks like the community was able to come up with some good suggestions for you. I'm in the same boat as you and I actually have done a mix of points and routers so I can hardwire certain devices, but I am really enjoying the points with built in speakers too. I guess it all comes down to your specific use case needs. Anyway, I just wanted to check in and see if you had any other questions or if you had all you needed. If you need more help, just let me know.

Thanks.

Hi, everyone.
As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.
Thanks
