Wifi

I need to connect a desktop computer without wifi to my Google nest wifi network. I tried connecting an ethernet cable from the computer to the closest Google wifi router but it wouldn't connect to the internet.

I would start with the basics.  Did you check your Google Home app to make sure your wifi router is setup, online, and working?  Are you plugged into the LAN port on the Google Wifi?  I guess there's only one port on a Nest Wifi point.  Have you swapped the cable for a known good one?  Is your computer set for DHCP auto-configure and  not already configured for another/different network?

He was absolutely right. It was an issue with the cable I was using. Tried a new one and it worked like a charm.

Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know, Hmccomb, and I'm happy to hear it worked out. Great insight from RT63.

As we got our resolution on this, is there anything else you might need before I mark this as resolved?

Thanks,

Jeff
