I currently have a Nest Secure and my two Nest door locks are in communication with my Nest Secure and appear on the Nest app. In addition to the two Nest door locks I also have a Nest themostat and multiple Nest detect window and door sensors.
I am aware that the Nest Secure will be decommissioned in April and I have ordered a Nest Connect which should be arriving in a few days. I would like to preserve the functionality of my Nest Secure to monitor my window and door sensors until April but would like to transtion my Nest door locks over to my Nest Connect.
I am looking for advice as to how to transition my Nest door lock from my Nest Secure to my new Nest Connect. Specifically, do I need to delete the door locks from my Nest app the try to connect them again with the Nest Connect? After I connect the Nest Connect to the Nest app can I then try to connect the door locks through the Nest Connect on the app or do I need to do anything with the door locks directly to get them back in the app through Nest Connect? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Boomerut,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’d be happy to help you with the Nest x Yale Lock. Let’s check it out.
To change the bridge through which your locks connect to WiFi from the Nest Secure to the Nest Connect and also keep the functionality of the Nest Secure, follow the steps below:
Let me know how it goes.
All the best,

Thanks for the detailed instructions.
I'm still confused about step 3: Create a new empty home structure in the Nest app.
I have only one home in the nest app. This home has my Nest Guard (which in turn has all my window and door sensors) and both Nest x Yale locks.
Can't I just add the Nest Connect to my existing home? I don't want two homes which are named differently but are actually the same location.
Not sure how to end up with my Nest x Yale locks in my current home after transitioning to using the Nest Connect instead of the Nest Secure.

Why do you need to do this nonesense. Can’t you just add the nest connect to your home and when the Nest Secure gets discontinued support the app knows to connect via the Nest Connect

I’ve added the Nest Connect to my home alongside two hub max’s already on the home network. Wasn’t the yale lock meant to connect via the wifi via the hub max?
Discontinuing the secure is such a s**t Google idea.. It actually works on the hub max even if the nest protects do not.
Nest being such a great product being diluted by Google through the years
