Reported problem from the Nest app regarding the Nest Connect device-
"The app is having trouble connecting to the assisting Nest product. Make sure you're close to it, that it's online and that your phone is connected to the same WiFi network." T030
Notes
I have successfully connected the Nest Connect range extender to my wifi. It is listed in attached devices. It is pingable. The Nest Connect range extender doesn't let you or even mention what Security mode it uses to communicate with the router. That would be nice to know. Any other undocumented restrictions we are told about. Will it work on 5 Ghz? Simply asking. Is Google working on making this more persistant and robust? Then I can move on to he lock.

To let others know, I created a custom WiFi network on 2.4 GHz with wpa2. Nest Connect setup to use this network via iPhone Nest app.
Nest Connect joined the new network and the Nest Lock was added. Everything works.
Happy now but Google troubleshooting wasn’t in the ballpark. Found this on my own out of desperation.

Just dawned on me.......is the Nest connect device compatible with a mesh WiFi network? Anything special here?
