Google Nest not connecting to Wi-Fi for Nest x Yale Lock

Zacharyts

Hi,

I have a Google x Yale lock and for some reason I cannot get the Nest to connect to Wi-Fi on the Nest app.  I keep getting the error message NA004(0.80).  Not sure how to fix this as everything I have tried has not worked.

Any help?  Thank you.

My Wi-Fi is definitely connected as I am writing this reply via my Wi-Fi connection.  Wi-Fi is set to 2.4 GHz.

Hi @Zacharyts ,

I understand that you're having trouble connecting your Google Nest to your Wi-Fi network and are seeing the error message NA004(0.80). Here are some things you can try to resolve the issue:

Verify Range and Reduce Interference

  • Ensure your Nest device is within the optimal Wi-Fi range.
  • Minimize wireless interference by moving away from other electronic devices.

Check the App Version

  • Open the Nest app and check the version number.
  • Update the app to the latest version if necessary.

Check Nest x Yale Lock Battery Level

  • Verify that the Yale Lock has sufficient battery power.

Restart Network Equipment

  • Power cycle your router and modem. Wait a few minutes before turning them back on.

Restart the Bridge Device (Nest Connect)

  • If using a Nest Connect, restart it by unplugging and plugging it back in.

Swap Nest Connects (If Applicable)

  • If you have multiple Nest Connects, try swapping them to isolate the issue.

Reset Nest x Yale Lock to Factory Defaults

  • Remove the battery cover.
  • Remove batteries.
  • Unscrew the two screws holding the interior lock.
  • Remove interior lock from back plate.
  • Hold down the factory reset button while re-inserting the batteries.
  • Release the factory reset button once there are four beeps. (Video Reference)

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please let me know so we can provide further assistance.

Best regards,

Josh

Josh,

Thanks for your comments.  I tried all these to no success, except swapping Nest Connects as I do not have a second device.

The result of my issue is as follows.

After a long conversation with Google tech support, I was advised by them that this product was defective and I needed to return the product to the retailer it was purchased from (Best Buy).  I did that and exchanged it for another.  The new one has been installed and works fine now.  This exercise was incredibly inconvenient as I had to take the lock off my door and return the entire product to the retailer.

I doubt I will ever purchase another Google product like this.  Horrible experience top to bottom.
