Hijacked accounts

Several of my Google accounts (Gmail) etc have been hijacked by a disgruntled fan of mine using Google home, nest, Chromecast etc. She has all my info so it's not hard. Is there any suggestions out there to assist me?

Hi @Jmula007

There is a support page about this specifically: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6294825

You should enable MFA and try the Google Advanced Account Protection program if you still have access.

Hi @Jmula007 ,

I'm so sorry to hear that your accounts have been hijacked. I know how frustrating and upsetting that can be.

Here are a few things you can do to secure your accounts and prevent further unauthorized access:

  1. Change your passwords. This is the most important step. Make sure to use strong, unique passwords for each account. You can use a password manager to help you create and store strong passwords.

  2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA). 2FA adds an extra layer of security to your accounts by requiring you to enter a code from your phone in addition to your password.

  3. Check your account activity. Go to your Google Account and review your recent activity. Look for any suspicious activity, such as logins from unfamiliar devices or IP addresses.

  4. Report the hijacking. If you believe your accounts have been hijacked, you can report it to Google. You can do this by following these steps:

    • Go to the Google Account recovery page.
    • Enter your email address or phone number.
    • Click on "I don't know my password."
    • Click on "My account was hacked."
    • Follow the instructions to submit a report.

Once you've taken these steps, you should be able to secure your accounts and prevent further unauthorized access.

Here are some additional tips to help you protect your accounts from being hijacked in the future:

  • Be careful about what information you share online. Don't share your passwords, security questions, or other sensitive information with anyone you don't trust.
  • Be careful about what links you click on. Don't click on links in emails or on websites unless you're sure they're legitimate.
  • Keep your software up to date. Software updates often include security patches that can help protect your devices from malware and other threats.

I hope this helps!
