How to connect yale lock to phone

I just purchased a home with yale lock and doorbell camera. I figured out how to reset but i cannot figure how to connect to my iPhone.  Do i need a nest connect?

You would want to connect the device to the Nest App if you have it. If it is still tied to the previous owner, then you will want to reach out to them if you can to get them to remove the device from their account. Usually, people will do this anyway when a house is sold.

I have the nest app. Its saying i need a connector??  I want to be able to lock my door from my phone

I have no clue what a connector is. Is your lock functioning in full? Does it work at all? Have you tried to change the batteries if its not working? What exactly does the error message state?

When i try to add the yale lock to the nest doorbell it says a connector is needed. It works but i want ilthe ability to lock my door from the phone

It is recommended to purchase a Nest Connect with your lock as it helps it stay connected better. I do not believe it is required for the lock to function, but it is much more fluid of a process for your lock to stay connected.
