I know this has been asked in the past (2/2024) but am not aware if there has been a resolution.
I have two nest locks at my house (garage and front door). How can I allow access to the front door but not the others so my kids can get in the house only?

Hi @RussAlbrycht,
Thanks for letting us know!
In this case, we don't have an option to set up a different code or separate access for the Nest Yale Lock based on location. The best solution is to use separate access codes for each lock.
To control which lock your sons can access, simply create a unique code for each Yale lock and then only provide them with the code for the door you want them to use.

Hi @RussAlbrycht,
Got it. In that case, the best option is to move one lock to a separate "home" within the app. This will allow you to assign a different master passcode to each lock.
To do this, please follow these steps:
Once you do that, you will be able to set up a different master passcode for each lock.
Keep me posted!

Hi RussAlbrycht,
Thanks for reaching out! I understand you're looking for a way to give your kids access to the Yale Lock without giving them full access to other features.
You can create a separate passcode that only your kids can use. This way, they can unlock the door without needing the Nest app or a phone. For detailed instructions on how to set this up, you can check out our Help Center article: How to set or change passcodes for Nest × Yale Lock. It has a lot of useful information that you may want to save for future reference.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Debora

Debora,
Thank you for the reply. That is not quite correct. Right now, I have two locks, "front door" and "garage door". I would like the kids to be able to open "front door" but not be able to unlock "garage door". Is this possible?

Thank you, much appreciated if you could love the powers that be know that it would be appreciated to have this functionality. In the meantime, much appreciated if you could let me know how to change the passcode on only one lock. I tried but wasn't able to do it

Hi @RussAlbrycht,
Thanks for the answer! Could you please tell me what happened when you tried to change the password? Are you getting any error messages or anything similar?
Best,
Debora

No error message but if I select one of the locks and then the person's profile to change the code or say remove access, it does it for all of the locks instead of just the one. I don't see any other way to let a person have access to just one lock in home
