Lock Physical Status Not SYnching With App

Just installed a Nest Yale Lock and everything went fine in the installation and the connection to the wi-fi and the app. The problem is that when I manually lock the deadbolt with the thumb turn inside it rarely shows as locked in the app. It's not a connectivity issue because I can see the lock in the app and can remotely lock or unlock at will. I've only seen one other thread but is there a know defect in which manually locking or unlocking  the door doesn't register correctly in the lock software and hardware?

Hi there Kalamunda,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

It seems pretty strange that your lock is behaving this way. At first glance, it doesn't seem to be hardware-related. If you locked your door using the app, the lock wouldn't tell you it was locked. However, let's try the following to get your lock back on track:

  1. Perform a factory reset on both your Nest x Yale Lock and Nest Connect.
  2. Once you're going through the installation process again and the app asks you to recalibrate the bolt, make sure to:
    -Open the door.
-Turn the interior thumb turn clockwise until the deadbolt is fully extended.
-Pull the deadbolt back all the way.
    -Close the door.
-Re-engage the deadbolt with the thumb turn, then lock the door and check the app's state.

If the Nest app still shows your door isn't locked, that could also mean there might be a slight misalignment between the door and the lock causing resistance. This may prevent the lock from registering its full extension.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Angel.
