Nest Connect keeps blinking blue light

IanParenteau
Community Member

I have installed a Yale Lock on my front door.

I have plugged the Nest Connect to the wall midway between the lock and my router.

The Nest Connect is about 10 feet from the router.

I have factory reset the Nest Connect.

I cannot get it to show a green light.

It keeps blinking a blue light.

I have restarted my router.

I have tried to connect the Nest Connect on the same 2.4 GHz network on which my Android phone is connected.

I have tried it about 15 times now.

The message error is NA018.

What should I do?

Hi folks,

I’m sorry for the delay. I appreciate you for sharing some troubleshooting steps you’ve taken beforehand. Do you have an Android or iOS mobile device?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can also try:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Turn Bluetooth off, then back on to refresh the connection.
  2. Ensure that IPv6 is enabled on the access point. Test it here: Google's IPv6 test.
  3. It should not be connected to any Bluetooth devices.
  4. Cellular data should be turned off.
  5. On iOS devices with iOS 14 or later, ensure that Local Network Access is enabled for the Nest app.
    • On your iOS device's home screen, tap Settings.
    • Tap Privacy > Local Network.
    • On the list of apps, turn on Local Network Access for the Nest app.
  6. Go to your phone settings > select your Wi-Fi network name > click Forget network. Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network then try pairing your Connect again.
  7. Try a different mobile device.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT

Here is an update of the problem that has been solved.

It looks like the issue was that I had created - inadvertently - a second home (with a very similar name) and the Nest Connect was added to this second home (and the wrong one). Once I deleted this home, I was able to follow through normal procedure to connect the Nest Connect to my home and the Yale lock.

Thank you.

Ian
