Nest Connect out of stock

So Nest Secure is going bye-bye (thanks Google, way to treat loyal customers) and I need a Nest Connect so my lock will still function fully, but it is out of stock.  I received the email yesterday.  How can you be so ill-prepared to be out-of-stock already?

When will Nest Connects be back in stock?

We don't have any "Nest Connects", but perhaps they are out of stock because of Google Nest's recommendation for users to replace their "Nest Guard" with a "Nest Connect", and this offer:

"Eligible users received an email in January 2024 with instructions on how to receive a Nest Connect at no cost."

Still, shouldn't they have planned ahead to have enough on hand?

Same thing. Email yesterday, went to get it today, out of stock. I called customer service and they couldn’t help. Sent to google store customer service which told me the nest number was no longer working and the call just ended. Very frustrating.

it wasn’t the customer support person’s fault

the problem is that the nest connect is out of stock the day after we get the email to get it for free because google is discontinuing other nest products. When will it be back in stock or is there another solution?
