Does anyone know whether the cellular modem of the Nest Secure product uses 3G or 4G? And what provider network it connects to? US carriers are about to kill (or have already started to kill) their 3G services so they can reuse their spectrum, so if these Nest Secure systems use 3G they are about to lose all backup connectivity. I cannot find the answer anywhere online. Does anyone know for sure? This will inform whether I keep this product for my house or throw it in the trash.

Hey folks.
Nest Secure uses your home wifi network. I do not fully understand what you are asking. What I found if helpful, states that if you do not want to use Nest Aware as your cellular backup, then you can use Brink. Check it out here.

Brinks is no longer offering monitoring service, which included cellular backup, for Nest Secure (according to their website).
I've searched high and low. I haven't been able to find any service out there that offers a cellular backup plan for Nest Secure owners. If anyone else has, please share.
