Nest Yale Lock use without WiFi

prnprn
Community Member

I am renovating a house and currently have no power or internet.  I installed the Nest Yale Lock as I read it can be opened and locked without WI-FI.  That has worked fine, but my batteries are being used up and require replacement every 10-14 days.  I read that it may be trying to connect with the Wi-Fi and that's the cause.  Is there a way to bypass this and stop it from trying to connect?

Thanks

Hi prnprn,

Thanks for reaching out. Let’s check — are you using standard AA alkaline batteries? Do you have a Nest Connect plugged into a wall outlet? If you received a low battery alert, use a fresh set of standard AA alkaline batteries. Don't use rechargeable batteries with your lock. You can use your lock’s keypad to control it without pairing it to the Nest app. If you have a Connect plugged into a wall outlet remove it so it won’t find your lock for pairing setup.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,

JT
