Nest Yale door lock jammed while locking but works fine while unlocking

My nest Yale door lock don’t lock but works fine while  unlocking the door, Initially I though it could be because of a bad deadbolt which I can replace but that’s not the case, following is what I observed:

Even when nest Yale door lock is not attached to the deadbolt it still not able to turn the knob to lock the door but works fine while unlocking it and the hand knob get stuck/Jammed while locking it, I suspect before locking the system does something which jams the hand knob.

Any hints/insights to address this problem is greatly appreciated.
