Similar to other users, my Nest Yale lock battery drains in a day. I had a lock for 2 yrs and suddenly it starts the battery starts draining in a day. I contacted nest who has me do a factory reset and removal from the app. Did all that and no success. Google told me to talk to Yale as it seems like a lock issue. I called Yale they said the lock is out of warranty by a new one.
I bought a new one. Guess what. SAME )&)&;$;&( issue. I called Yale they said the install is done fine and call Google Nest because it is a software issue. I talk to Kathy from Google Nest and without even trying to help saying the battery draining is a hardware issue and to contact Yale. Piece garbage product. I have 3 Nest thermostats, 9 Nest Protect, Nest door bell. And this piece of garbage lock times 2.
GOOGLE THIS IS A SOFTWARE BUG.
Then Nest connect is 6 ft away and 10 ft from the router. All within the 30-40 ft suggested distance.
FIX THE SOFTWARE INSTEAD OF BLAMING THE HARDWARE. Two locks don’t exhibit the same behavior. The only thing in common is the software.
