Nest app have problem connecting to nest connect

I have tried resetting the nest connect and Yale lock multiple times . Did factory reset also but it keeps saying the app cannot connect to assisting nest product with error T030. I looked at all other google help topics related to this . I am trying to connect nest smoke detector too and I get the same error . Is the nest connect not working. But it is connected to the nest app on the phone

Hi @Sakthi1,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I understand you're having trouble adding your Nest x Yale lock and a Nest Protect to the Nest app, especially since you're getting a T030 error code on both devices, which may be happening because the Nest Connect isn't working as expected. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and the detailed information shared. Don't worry, let's work together to get this resolved. To help with that, I have a few questions:

  • What is the status light on your Nest Connect?
  • How far is your Nest Connect from your router?
  • How far is your Nest x Yale lock from your Nest Connect?
  • How far is your Nest Protect from your router?
  • Are there any walls, mirrors, microwave appliances, or Bluetooth devices between your Nest Connect and your Nest x Yale Lock or Nest Protect?
  • Have you already tried the steps that legendheroes shared? If so, how was it?

@legendheroes, thanks for the troubleshooting steps provided!

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Cheers,
Jonathan

  • Factory reset isn’t always enough – I had to manually remove Nest Connect from my account in the app > wait 30 mins > then re-add it like it was new.
  • Nest Connect needs to be close to both the Wi-Fi router and the device (like the Yale lock or Protect). I temporarily moved everything into the same room, connected it all, then returned them to original spots.
  • Your phone and Nest Connect MUST be on the same 2.4 GHz network. Double-check that your phone didn’t auto-switch to 5 GHz or mobile data. T030 often shows up due to that.
  • Restart your router before re-adding devices. This seems unnecessary but solved pairing issues for me.
  • Reinstall the Nest App (fresh install > log in again). Sometimes it caches failed attempts and causes a weird loop.
  • If you're using a mesh Wi-Fi system, try turning off the other nodes temporarily so Nest connects only to the main one during setup.
