Nest x Yale Lock Won't Display on Google Home App

Just purchased and installed Nest x Yale lock with Nest Connect. Works fine in the Nest App. Cannot get the lock to display as a device on my Google Home App though. I've un-installed and re-installed both Nest and Google Home Apps.

When customers install a Nest Thermostat E or a Nest Learning Thermostat in the Google Nest app, it should AUTOMATICALLY appear in the Google Home app if they are logging onto both apps with the same Google Account and are accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" in both apps.

However, for more than a year customers in this forum have reported this isn't happening for them. Maybe the workaround many have used to fix this will work for you:

1) In the Google Nest app, create a new, temporary Google Nest "home/structure".

2) Go to that new, empty Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete it.

3) This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync; maybe your Yale Lock will now appear in the Google Home app.

Unfortunately that did not force a sync. The fake home was deleted from both apps, but lock still won't show up in Google Home app.

Hi folks,

@BRIEL, thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community and sharing all the steps you’ve tried to fix the issue. I’d be glad to help you with the Nest x Yale Lock. Let’s check it out.

Please try the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Open your mobile device's Settings > General > Date and Time. Tap Set Automatically, toggle it off, and then turn it back on. Make sure that the time zone, date, and time are correct.
  2. Make sure the Home app has permission to use the phone's location.
  3. Check for any updates for the Home app in the Google Play Store.
  4. Check for any Android system updates and install them if there are any.
  5. Uninstall the Home app, restart your mobile device, and then reinstall the Home app.
  6. Sign in to the Home with the same account you used in the Nest app.

Keep me posted.

I appreciate your help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
