Just installed a Nest x Yale Lock on my front door. I've been noticing that if I lock it manually (with the knob on the inside of the door), the app still thinks the door is unlocked. So when I leave my house it will notify me asking if I want to lock the door.
Is this normal? Shouldn't the lock know that it has been locked manually with the knob?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi BJJDad73,
Thanks for posting. It seems that you have a knob and a deadbolt together, as when you lock the door using the doorknob, the app still shows the door is unlocked. In this case, you need to remove the knob, as the Nest × Yale Lock will not function since it is installed through the deadbolt.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Zoe

Huh? I’m talking about the manual knob on the deadbolt.

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the help here, Zoe.
@BJJDad73, thanks for confirming. Let’s take some troubleshooting steps to prevent this from happening again.
First, let's make sure your Nest app is up-to-date by reinstalling it. If that doesn’t work, continue with removing the Nest Yale x Lock and Nest Connect on your Nest app.
Then, do a factory reset on both of the devices.
Factory reset the Nest × Yale Lock
For the Nest Connect, hold the device button for more than 8 seconds, the light will turn yellow, which means you should release the button right away. Then immediately press and release the button.
Once everything is done, you can add both of the devices, starting with the Nest Connect, and everything should work as intended.
Let us know if it works.
Cheers,
Renz
