Tamper Alert - Red Exclamation Mark on App

We had a battery failure; I replaced them - lokc powered up. It works with the outside keypad, thumb toggle etc; BUT on the app it shows a Red Exclamation mark - that just will not go away. Any suggestions - like a reset etc; I really want to avoid removing the product from my account and re-entering it - it is such a hassle getting it to go back online.

Hi @DesertCanuck,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that after replacing the batteries of your lock, you’re receiving a tamper alert with a red exclamation mark in the app even though you’re able to manually lock and unlock it. I also see that you want to avoid removing the device from the app since it can be a bit difficult to add it back to the app. No worries, I’m happy to assist you. To get started, here are some questions for you:

  • What is the exact model of your lock? (You can share a picture of the device if you aren't sure).
  • What app are you using to control your lock? Is it the Google Home app or the Nest app?
  • Could you please share a screenshot of the message with the red exclamation mark you’re seeing?

A quick tip: Sometimes a tamper alert is triggered if the battery cover isn't fully seated or if the mounting plate was slightly nudged during the battery change. You might want to double-check that the cover is snapped firmly into place.

I’ll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Daniel
