Using nest secure while offline. It does work Locally. I see that if I arm my system all the door sensors (30 of them) communicate with nest secure and the motion sensors also work. At night I can set the alarm and my house is secure while I sleep. The nest Yale locks also will disarm the alarm system when I enter the house just like before. Also the nest Fobs still work. Does any one know if there may be future problem I many run into if I continue using these features locally?

Hi Osaf,
Thank you for letting us know about using the system locally. While it's true that some basic functionality might work locally for a while after Nest Secure support ends, all features will eventually stop working completely.
This means that even if you can arm the alarm locally now, it won't be reliable in the long run. You may find the system goes completely offline at some point.

Byron

Hello Thank you for getting back to me. I wonder if you can explain why the system which communicates to it sensors locally and has no outside connection to the internet, would eventually stop connecting to its door and window sensors? I am, I guess not understanding the technical aspects? Does the system somehow still require an outside source?

Hi Osaf,
Thank you for posting.
That's correct; somehow your Nest Secure still connects to your sensors; however, due to the shutdown of the support, it won't connect to the Internet anymore. This means it won't function with the Google Nest app or connect to the Internet (except on your system).
