After physically switching 2 speakers and mistakenly adding a “placement” no sound from either

Recently I exchanged physical location of 2 Google home mini speakers since one less sensitive to voice commands. My next step was to rename the speakers since the kitchen unit when selected now played in the bathroom and vice versa. I managed to rename the speakers however I made the mistake of assigning a “placement” for one of the units. Try as I have for 2 hours I cannot remove that association. Now when I play audio from Spotify for example it shows television and kitchen joined together and neither one produces sound. Prior to this all units(4) worked fine. Settings example: TV - SAMSUNG, “Home: Home”, Placement: Home…..Functioning unit, Bedroom: “Home: Home., Placement: Blank. Had I left them all blank in Placement I wouldn’t have this problem. I see no way to revoke this setting.

Hello @RCJ-Florida,

Thanks for reaching out. Have you tried resetting the speakers? You can follow this step-by-step guide which will reset it to its default factory settings. You can then re-add them to your account to see if your issues will be resolved.

Hope that helps! 🙂

Hi RCJ-Florida,

I'm just checking in to see if you still need help with your device.

Thanks for checking in. It seems that problem has been resolved. I did remove all 4 speakers and then rediscovered them. With all of my rocking around I seem to have created another minor annoyance that I don't really care for. Somewhere in the help menu you I'm sure it will tell me right from wrong.

I added my TV to the bluetooth network. It's an older LCD that I've replaced the mainboard on twice now and it worked fine for us. In adding/linking the TV I had hopes that I could possibly link the Kitchen Mini to the mix and that would give me audio both through the TV and behind us from the Kitchen. That doesn't work so I' guess I'll have to give that scheme up.

I use Spotify exclusively for background music and I've developed several albums to satisfy my mood for any given time. That is my intended use for the Google Mini speakers. The TV sound is POOR as are both my wife and my hearing. I'd hope to improve that by joining the system. Both of us wear hearing aids.
