When asking at the time or the weather it sits there and it thinks when asking it to turn off lights turn on lights or anything with automation it will work just fine when asking who I am and replies back to my username when I tell it to find a phone it's confused who I am I've been on a support call with one of the Google support numbers and they told me I need all three new devices but I don't understand they were working yesterday fine

I am having issues with my google hub max following commands.  For example I can tell it to set a time for 15 min and it starts, but when I ask it to cancel is registers it heard the command but just spins and wont do anything.   I can ask it for the weather or time and it just spins and non responsive though it heard me as it displays what I asked.  I ask of its connected to the internet and it responds it is.  I have 5 displays throughout my home and all of them are having issues.  I have factory reset one of them and it didn't help.   I have asked it to turn the volumes to say 4 it registers it heard me but wont do anything,  Then I ask to their the volume down and it does 1 at a time and not to a certain level.  This started happening a few days ago and hasn't gotten any better.  I have unugged the device to reset it Doesnt help and I have tried to unplug and reset my router and that hasn't helped.  I called google and they said they were having issues and should be resolved in 8 hours but that was 3 days ago.  Anyone know of anything?   Thanks.

Hi @E_F

See this thread for the current known issue:  Answered: nest audio not answering time or weather questions - Google Nest Community

The Nest team is aware and looking into it currently. Hoping they can get a fix out soon.

Try disabling Google Assistant on your phone(s) and see if that resolves anything.

>> disabling Google Assistant on your phone(s)

Personally I have never used assistant on my phone and already have turned off.  (Has too many false triggers and when in my house picks up the same commands as speakers and very annoying to have turned on).

My Google Assistant is answering prompts/commands on multiple devices, our nest hub, as well as both home minis and occasionally our phones as well. Have rebooted and followed all steps I could find online and it's driving us crazy! They are also slow to respond/don't respond at all at times. Is there any fix to this?

Same for us, and has only started happening regularly this week.

I'm having the same experience. It's crazy-making!

Update on the workaround I did with setting up a Google home on a whole nother Google account it works for about 2 weeks and now they have went back to stupid mode where they will control the lights play a song but not be able to stop it and or control the volume and sit there and think when ask the questions like how much mass is our current Sun what president is running and the most basic what time is but the weird thing is I can do still math with it like I can do 1 + 1 = 2 but I can't get it to tell the time

After it seemed that all my speakers were working again yesterday, I woke up today to find them all NOT working again.  All the same problems again!  What is going on here?

Google being google: all their top engineers developing counter measures for youtube ad blockers while leaving the useless running everything else!

HEY GOOGLE: IT'S BROKEN AGAIN.

That fix didn't last long, less than 24 hours. Very disappointing.

Hey all,

We're aware of the reports of Google Assistant commands not working as expected. Thank you for your patience while the team looks into it and works on a fix.

Any update on this? Been going on far too long now?.😡

Same problem. Reset devices multiple times.  Will not respond to commands to mini speakers.

Started working again (2nd time).

Then broke again this morning.

Sounds like Google has their B team of engineers working on this while their A team works hard on finding new ways to increase add sales and profit on user's personal information.

Same here. Works then doesn't work works then doesn't work. I understand there's obviously a problem at Google but it would be so nice of them... just to actually tell us the exact problem and an estimate of when they think it might be fixed!!

I have 2 Google nest and a mini. Quit working about 1 week ago.  Will not respond to any questions for weather, time and general information but the lights flicker on mini so it hears me. Never says anything (such as there is a problem) that it used to do if it could not answer a query.  Appears that it will not do anything that needs Internet.  Will set alarms, will turn lights on and off.  Will play music (spotify) if asked. Just discovered that it will spell words if asked.  ALSO: The device mics all became MUCH more sensitive at the same time as the other problems: sometimes all three devices answer the same request which never happened before, often the speaker several rooms away answers the query instead of the one I am right next too (this used to happen occasionally but now it is constant). Have performed a factory reset on devices as well as my router. Nothing improved the situation.  The lack of function is very frustrating but the multiple mic responding is such a problem that after several days I resorted to unplugging 2 of the three speakers.

Started working again last night (3rd time).

Then broken again this morning.

I'm glad it's not just me. Our home devices are just being awful. Not answering questions, not performing tasks, just being obstinate. It's like trying to get my cat to sit on command, in fact I'd have more luck doing that.

good evening,

All speakers have stopped replying to questions or commands. They keep "spinning" and in the end merely time out. The same commands are working on the phones in the house. Hard reset/soft reset/reset of AP did not bring anything. Any ideas ?

We're noticing the same thing, starting today. If we ask weather questions we get silence, where we used to get answers.

Same. Seven nest devices all stopped working yesterday. I deleted the home and factory reset all of them and still have the same problem.

So it's not just my devices.  S22+ phone responds but 3 assistant devices do not other than turn a light on or off.  Related to last google home update?

Ok... Keeping my fingers crossed but it started working again yesterday and so far so good. Let's hope they have solved the problem. Although reading the thread, some of you are still experiencing these problems.. come on Google. You're a massive company. Get your act together

How do we check the if the firmware is up to date?  Below is my firmware. Is it up to date?  For others: is there a page or place to check the firmware version release?  And is it possible to manually update the firmware or is it all just automated?

Thank you.

Technical information

System firmware version: 444798

Cast firmware: 3.74.444798

language: en-US

Thanks for getting it fixed.  Great to have everything working again.
