Hi
I purchased a google nest (I think 2nd gen) for my 93 year old mother, primarily so she can listen to 2 radio stations she likes.
Her favourite radio show being on a Saturday morning. However she speaks too slowly for the assistant, with pauses in between words : 'hey google (she pauses) play ABC RN' (assistant does nothing) or 'hey google play ABC (she pauses) RN (assistant plays some random abc children's channel). She just cannot manage saying the sentence without pauses.
Is there any way for the assistant to recognise slower speech for the elderly?
Many thanks
Many thanks for your assistance

Pretty sure there is no way to adjust the assistant to recognise slower speech unfortunately.
One possible way round the problem that may help though is to create a routine to play the radio station required and give the routine a one word activation starter. Then when she just says 'hey google' followed by that one word, it should action the routine to play the radio station. If that works just create a second routine for the other radio station she likes with a different activation word of course.
Good luck.

In hindsight Alexa might have been a better choice as it will account for people who stutter.
"Adaptive Listening gives you more time to finish speaking before Alexa responds to you, making it easier for you to interact with Alexa and get the most out of your experience. The feature is available in US, Germany, United Kingdom and India. US customers with Do Not Send Voice Recordings settings enabled will not be able to use this feature."
I live in Australia and have my Amazon account set to the US so I have access.
