Google Home Mini - 1st generation Won't Power On

My Google Home Mini won't power on.  I've tried plugging/unplugging, factory reset, each many times.  The device doesn't light up at all.  I tried reaching Google Support today and their system is done for chat, receiving a call from them [when they're ready], etc.  I was on hold for nearly an hour trying to call them directly to no avail.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
