Google Home Mini Gen 1 not connecting to 5G

Can only connect Google Mini Gen 1 to 2.4G  . 5G does not show up as a wifi option. I have reset router and Google Mini a few times with no success.

Google Home Mini (1st gen) does support 5 GHz. 

Can you see and connect tot the 5 GHz network on your other devices?

Is your speaker in good range of your router to pickup the 5 GHz signal? Try moving it closer?

Is there a reason you want to specifically connect it to the 5 GHz network?
