Google Home mini speaker not turning on

Milligano1

I've been using my Nest Mini speakers for approx 4 years. Every so often it wont turn on . I go through the process of disconnecting the power cord 10 times and do a factory reset - this normally works

However the speaker has not worked for 3 days now. I can not turn it on, reset, reboot etc. Are there any other options or is it completely unrecoverable?

thanks

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Nest Mini Speaker not turning on. I understand how frustrating that situation can be. Let's try to make it work again. I just need to ask for some information to better assist you:

  1. Is the speaker or display plugged directly into a wall outlet or surge protector?
  2. When the speaker or display is plugged into the wall outlet, does it show any LED lights that indicate that it has power?
  3. Are other devices able to receive power from the same outlet?
  4. Is the official power adapter that came with the speaker or display used on the device?
  5. Have you tried to use another wall outlet?
  6. When did the issue begin?
Was there any type of electrical outage around the time the issue began?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Jenny

Hi Jenny

Its the official power adapter I'm using. Other devices work properly receive power from the wall outlet ok and the mini nest does not work in other wall outlets. No led lights appear on Nest when plugged into any wall outlet. I've tried a surge protector but to no avail.

The issue occurred approximately a week ago - the nest is my study and I was using successfully on the Friday before and when I tried last Tuesday morning it didnt work - note all power outlets switched off after the Friday . The RCD unit in our house tripped last Monday but as I say no units in the study were on

thanks for your help

Hi Milligano1,

Thanks for your reply. I recommend you try the next steps to resolve this.

Discharge the speaker or display:

  1. Unplug the power adapter from the outlet and the speaker or display.
  2. Leave it unplugged for 20 seconds.
  3. Plug the power adapter into the speaker or display.
  4. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet that works.
  5. Check if any LED lights would appear on the speaker or display.
  • If you have another Google speaker, please try using the power adapter and check if it shows any LED lights.

Please let me know if this helps!

Regards,
Manuel
