Google Nest Hub 2.0 as Output Speaker for Windows PC

I was previously using an Echo Dot as a speaker for my PC as it did not have one. It worked great but I saw the Google Nest Hub 2.0 in Best Buy and really wanted it for my desk so I opted to use it. I assumed it was like a Google Nest just with a display so it should be similar enough to use as a speaker for my PC as well and I read online that others have tried and succeeded. I pair my PC and Hub via Bluetooth though and I cannot see it as an output device on my computer. I see it listed as "Other Devices" as opposed to "Audio" under my Bluetooth settings. I've tried running troubleshooters, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, disconnecting/reconnecting and more recommended fixes that I've found on YouTube or Online but cannot find a solution. Others have confirmed it is possible so I'm not quite sure why It wont work on mine.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hey kenndraws,

Thanks for sharing the details about the issue here. Please note that we don't officially support pairing Nest Hub or any of our Google Home and Nest speakers and display as an external speaker for computers, especially when using it for audio output to play videos. The Google Home/Nest devices are a stand alone speakers/display, and it is best to pair them with the same speakers, Cast-enabled speakers, and Chromecast devices to play synchronous music in your house.

We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Cheers,
