Google Nest Hub doesn't change TV channels

Hi,

I have so far managed my two Samsung Smart TV with Google Home, using the Samsung Smart Thing app on my Samsung smartphone,  from Friday afternoon to my voice request Google turns the TV on and off, increases or decreases the volume and also manages to switch to next channel, but does not allow me to change channel giving direct voice command, keeps repeating that in order to carry out the operation I have to specify which device to do it on. I cannot understand what has changed, I do not use Chromecast for televisions, I have always used in all these months the two televisions loaded in the rooms of Google Home through the Smart thing app, I have an extreme need to manage the televisions with voice commands and I would like to do it again as the first. Can you help me please? Thanks and apologize for my english,  i hope it was understanding.

Same problem here. Was able to change channel for multiple months and since last friday it just doesn't work anymore. Getting exactly the same reply from my mini as you. The Samsung Smartthings app works like before. I suppose google changed something. Can't find anything on this anywhere and it seems it started 2-3 weeks ago for volume control also (from the most recent posts on forums).

I hope google fixes this soon because my father in law needs the voice commands, can't use his hands due to muscle disease.

that's right I have the same problem as your father-in-law, but the volume change continues to work for me. I have not found where to contact the google support service, can someone help us? thank you

I did sent feedback from within the google home app on my cellphone. Click the letter of your name in the top right and select feedback. Didn't get any reaction yet ...

I received an answer by chatting on the google home facebook site, I have not solved the problem yet but we are trying

I inform you that I have done several configuration tests with them on messenger, but they did not work, but amazing this morning everything is back to work as well as before. i believe google has rolled out an update that fixed the problem.
try to see if it works for you

Hi Muddi,

Unfortunately my problem persists with a Google nest and Samsung TV using smart thing. We use these devices as accessibility for my father who has Parkinsons disease. When can I expect to get the update that will fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

The problem is on google's side; had the problem for couple of days; fixed itself and since yesterday it is back ... I don't think we can do much.

I installed a smart Wi-Fi remote control  as a backup for my father in law so he can use that when google is not working like it should. It doesn't work as good as the build in functions of google itself but he uses only a couple channels. No channel up/down with that thou and every channel has to be programmes as a scene in the remote.

Hi Jake,

 

this issue has resolved itself (after many hours of trying to sort it out, it just resolved itself) but we continue to have issues with the nest. We have to use a very specific order of commands to get it to change the channel “hey google, on the main tv, change the channel to channel ___” and even then it often take 3-4 goes. As we rely on this as an accessibility device, the ongoing problems are super, SUPER frustrating.
