Google home mini wifi

Just moved into my off campus apartment housing and brought my mini from home… but it cannot connect and constantly says “ speaker may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iPhone’s privacy settings. Then try again.“ the setting is turned on and idk why it won’t let me connect.

What kind of Wifi network are you trying to connect it to? Do you need to login to the Wifi first to be able to access the internet?

@Saajan I know how exciting it is to be able to use your Google speaker with your college buddies. To confirm, did you try performing a reset on your speaker? 

Note: Shared apartment network- Often have captive portals for sign-in or have AP isolation enabled to limit access between members on the network.
