Teaghoul

Hi I’ve had this google home mini for a while now and I want to reset the voice recognition because my sister can trigger my google home while trying to use hers

anyways every time I try to reset the voice recognition in the app it’s stuck at one question “hey google what’s the weather like today” and won’t move forward to other questions it’s incredibly frustrating

Hi Teaghoul,

Thanks for reaching out.

There are two ways on setting up a voice match for Google Home/Nest speakers. You can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Home  and then Settings  and then Google Assistant and then Voice Match and then Other devices.
    • If you have more than one home, tap the home you want to add Voice Match to.
  3. Tap Get started and then follow the in-app steps.
    • Note: To turn on Voice Match automatically for new devices in the same home, turn on “Automatically enable on future devices.”

Set up Voice Match directly on your Google display. You’ll need your phone and access to your display’s screen.

  1. Say “Hey Google, learn my voice” to your display.
  2. On your display, tap Let’s go.
  3. Select your account on the display. A push notification will be sent to your phone asking you to confirm whether it’s you trying to sign in on a new device.

Note: If you don't receive a notification:

Android: Go to Settings And then Apps & notifications And then [All apps] And then Google Play services, and check that notifications are enabled. Then, you’ll need to start setup on your display again.

iOS: You may have notifications disabled. Open your YouTube, Google, Gmail, or Google Smart Lock app to check if the confirmation prompt has appeared. You’ll signed in to one of these apps on your phone for this to work.

  1. Tap Yes, it’s me to confirm.
  2. Follow the steps on your display to complete Voice Match setup

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess
