Google mini generation 1 bricked

ef2

It seems as if my nest mini 1st generation is bricked.  It just became useless by itself.  Was working fine the evening, the next morning it was non-responding and the Home app cannot pick it up. Tried everything to revive it.  Nothing is working.  No lights coming on, and no response.  Only green light comes on when I press the reset button at the bottom.  Tried several configurations to reset, but no luck. Tried switching on and off more than 30 times, but still no luck.  Please help

Hey ef2,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it is to not have a working device when needed - let's dig deeper. A few questions: when and where did you purchase your Google Home Mini? Are you using the original power cable that came with the device?

Let's try theses steps below:

  1. At the side of the Google Home speaker, unplug the power cord > wait 10 seconds > plug the power cord back in > wait for the 4 LED lights to turn on.
  2. Repeat the first step, 10 more times.
  3. On the last attempt, wait until the device announces "Welcome to Google Home".
  4. Use the Google Home app to set up the device.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Good day

I bought it at Bestbuy in the USA.  I am however currently living in South Africa.
