Neat hub randomly stops playing nest camera feed. I use these cameras as a baby monitor. It was reliable with my first kid 3 years ago. Now it just randomly stops showing the camera feed. Help!

Hey Smhoye,

Thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the late response here.

I know how important it is to be able to monitor your baby on your Google Nest Hub. Please note that wired Nest cameras should stream live video for up to 4 hours. If your Nest camera or doorbell is on battery power, it can only stream for up to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, you need to reactivate the live stream in the app to continue with the stream.

Let's see what's going on with your device:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Is it a battery operated Nest camera?
  • Which Nest Hub do you have (1st or 2nd gen)?
  • How far is your Nest Hub from your router?
  • Are there other people streaming the camera using a different device at the same time?
  • What is the operating and firmware version of your Nest Hub?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Move your Google Nest device within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Google Nest device and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
