Google Nest mini acknowledge radio station and states that it will play it through Tunein but then only silence. How do I fix it

I'm happy to hear that some of the stations are now working. Let's keep monitoring it as the team is still investigating due to the fact that there are other stations that can't be played. I'll keep updating this thread as soon as I have additional information to share.

I'm checking in on this thread to see how many users are still having the same issue with TuneIn. Please do not forget to provide your location, radio station that you're having an issue with, and the type of Google Home/Nest device that you have. This information will be very helpful for the team to isolate the issue further.

We appreciate all your patience. No new updates for now. If you still have the same issue on your devices, please do not forget to send feedback using the keywords: "GHT3 Unable to play <name of station> in Tune In." Also, update this thread with your country and device.

Rest assured that our team is working vigorously on this issue. I'll update this thread again once I got more information to share.

I think Muddi is a Google Customer Experience Chatbot programmed by a human being to respond with "mothehood and apple pie"  speak.  Jake threatened to lock this thread 3 weeks ago.  Jake is probably a Google employee with Administive power to turn things off when they don't suit Google's needs.

TuneIn had worked about 5 days in the last 6 months for me.  As soon as it works once Google locks all the messages about it, then it breaks again.  

Google products have become completely unreliable.  None of them work like they did when new.  There's nothing wrong with the hardware, it's just back end problems and bugs being added constantly by Google developers.

The Tunein problems persist in Ontario, Canada.

• Play CBC Music (which should play my local Halifax station)
  • works on hub
  • on mini, I get "not available in your country"
• Play CBC Music Vancouver
  • says it is playing, but then just get silence

It seems what works and what doesn't changes throughout the day

Yes.  CBC Radio One is off the air.  My Amazon Echo Dot has been ordered.

I am having the same issue. I play today fm on tune in every day on my Google home speaker but it won’t play since yesterday morning. It acknowledges my request and says ‘playing Today FM from Tune In’ but then just silence. My app shows that it is playing the station. I have tried plugging out for a couple of minutes and also disconnecting and reconnecting to Wi-Fi but neither has resolved the issue. I have also tried playing Spotify and it is working fine so it is just Tune In.

Hi, Also having this issue. Have a google home and 2 nest speakers. TuneIn for any station is not working. 

+ Rebooted all 3 speakers for more than 2 minutes
+ All with in range of router
+ Able to play spotify on all of them 
+ Not working for any station (irish station anyway)

I'm having the same issue with all my google speakers and nest. It started yesterday. TuneIn opens up on the nest and doesn't play anything and shuts down. On the Speakers it acknowledges the request and then silent. I can cast  TuneIn from my phone.

My Google speaker and my parents (in a different house) has stopped playing Irish radio stations.  It's saying it's going to play them from Tune In but then just silence.

Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it ??

Have you tried any non Irish station?     I ask as there are more similar complaint on other sites but not related to Irish radio.

No radio seems to be playing currently.   This seemed to have happened after an android app update.

The issue has now been fixed by either Google or Tunein, took 2 days same as previous time this happened.

My best won’t play TuneIn, 

for the last year I’ve had the RTÉ radio play every morning, same routine, “hey Google play RTÉ radio” and goes ahead, “playing RTÉ radio one on tunein” then a pause, and a little “tunein” jingle just before streaming the radio. 

thr last two days, same thing , ask to play RTÉ radio,  responds with “playing RTÉ radio 1 one tunein” then nothing

the weird thing is if you go into the Google home app it says thr speaker is streaming “tunein” 

volume is on, it will play Music from my Spotify, it will play other radio stations not on tunein, 

any ideas?

Yep I have the exact same problem, I posted on reddit and 2 other people replied with the same issue (in confirmed he was in Ireland).  I'm in Ireland to (I'm guessing you are as well considering you mention RTE).

Looks like its an issue localized to Ireland.

Hmmm seems to be an issue with Google and Tunein in Ireland

Correct.  I did further testing and tried non Irish radio stations listed on the TuneIn stations list and got the same behavior.  Just to be clear I have 2 mini's in the house and both are displaying the same behavior.

Definitely looks like an issue with all Minin's in Ireland (based on the number of responses I've received here and on reddit .

My reddit post is getting a lot of replies this is clearly an issue with all devices in Ireland, do Google support monitor these forums?  They really need to look into this immediately.
