After some recent update/reboot of my Nest/Home devices, Home Assistant Lovelace cast to all devices shows always with white background I tested in Auto, White and Dark Mode (no changes)... (it started with one 2nd gen but overnight all of them have this issue)
I haven't updated Home Assistant in a long while, so it's not update on their side, but just in case I tried rolling back to older version of Home Assistant and to the latest too.
It's reproducible in all of them...
The only culprit at this point is Nest Hub software that broke background styling...
More Info on home assistant forum from other user, but it has similar conclusion: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/google-cast-suddenly-wont-display-black-background/823644

As can be seen in the linked posts this is affecting all devices that are Chromecast enabled like Nvidia Shields, Lenovo Smart displays and Chromecast pucks

Hey,
Can confirm this issue still persists after a reset on a Google home hub. However this issue is consistent across Google home hubs, nest hubs, chromecasts, chromecast feature on Lenovo smart displays and is not just in one country either.
However as requested anyway here is my system info. Most people are on this who are using nest and home hubs however is also consistent across other OS Variants as well. This seems like an issue with a change I presume has been done on the Google side with the way chromecasts requests are handled from home assistant. It has already been ruled out that this is an issue directly with home assistant.
System firmware version: 22.20240805.103.161 Cast firmware: 3.75.446835

Attached is my Home Hub image. I was the first to raise this to the home assistant community and first saw the issue on the evening of 06/01.
This is the earliest recorded time this issue was seen. In terms of thing that have been done to try and resolve this primarily myself anyway was to force the colour of my Google home hub out of auto as it has been since I got it 2 years ago. (In auto the light sensor as it normally does switches the devices colour into light mode during the day and dark mode in the night) I forced my device into dark mode and still saw the issue when casting.
I can confirm the device was showing dark mode as expected but casting was not displaying a dark background which we would expect. However we can also confirm that it was and is reading dark mode correctly form the device as the cards within the dashboards shown are dark.
Hope this helps.

Hi JSpoerry,
Thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear the issue is still not resolved. At this moment, the option we have to update the dark mode in your Google Nest Hub is to do a factory reset and then set up the Nest Hub back in the Google Home app.
If the issue continues after performing these steps, please consider sharing your thoughts directly with our development team through this feedback form. Your input will help us prioritize features and ensure that we're meeting the needs of our diverse user base.
Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Recommended function fixed, and I believe I had some job that was updating my home assistant I forgot because it updated it and fixed itself. And it was updating if I rolled back it updated shortly after. So there was a user error on my part.
