I messed up installation of Google Nest Hub Max in my elderly father-in-laws apartment

i recently set up the Google Nest Hub Max for my father-in-law who lives in independent living. He only has a flip phone so I used my iphone to download Google Home and go through the setup. Now, the Nest is connected to my google account, phone number, and contact list!!! How can I change it?

Remember, he only has a flip phone so he can't get or activate any text messages!

Thanks!

The home app on his phone would have his email address and then his contacts. He has to be able to run the app on his smart phone, jf you set it up on your phone then all data like contacts come from your contact list.

If the phone cannot run the home app, the only way out is to let him have all your contacts, and add yourself to your contacts?

Never tried it, is his phone a smart phone? Basic android is ok if it shows google store to install app.

I have 2 nest hub max, and cannot use new Samsung phones at all to set up the max, had to go back to an old phone.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

@kingjohn, thanks for your suggestion, that's really helpful.

@lpemberton, for you to be able to set up the Google Nest Hub Max for your father-in-law, you need to make sure to set it up using his Gmail account. That way, you can add contacts under his account and as soon as you set up the Nest Hub Max, all info under his account will be synced. Here are the requirements for you to set up:

  • A speaker or display.
  • Latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Latest version of the Google app.
  • A Google Account.
  • A mobile phone or tablet that:
    • Has Android 8.0 or later.
    • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
    • Has Bluetooth turned on.
  • An Internet connection and secure wireless network.
  • If you already use Duo for video calling, make sure that you use the same Google Account in Duo and in the Google Home app.

Hope this helps.

Princess
