Local Radio Station Not Streaming On Google Nest Hub

lovegnest

Streaming local radio stations in Singapore to my Google Nest Hub has stopped working recently. These are usually streamed from Tunein on Google Nest Hub but as recent as mid last week, the radio stations were correctly loaded from Tunein but simply refused to play. There were switching of the radio station page between Tunein page repeatedly until timeout which landed on the Tunein page.

I had also tried to chromecast from Tunein on an andriod tablet to the Google Nest Hub but only managed to stream foreign radio stations. The same behavior happens when i tried to stream local radio stations. Similar issues were faced when i tried to use Mediacorp's MeListern app which is for streaming local radio stations.

Please advise how should I go about fixing the issues. There were no problems faced when I tried with another Google Nest mini that I owned. Thanks!

Hi @lovegnest!

Thanks so much for reaching out to the community.I see you're having trouble playing local radio on your Nest Hub. I'll look into this for you now.

To give you the best steps, I need a little more information first.

  • What version of the Google Home app are you using?
  • What's the exact voice command you're using to play the radio?

Once you have this information, I'll be more than happy to assist you!

Best regards,

Debora

Hi Debora,

I am using Google Home app version 3.32.69.2. The Google Nest Hub is on version26.20250116.103.2201.

The voice command usually used is Hey Google, play [station name] where station names could one one of the local radio stations like 98.7 FM, 93.3 FM. Google Nest will launch TuneIn to start the radio station streaming. Thanks!

Regards

I’m also experiencing the same problem now for 2 weeks, the tune in app flicks back and forward on the hub display and has an error. My hub is also older unit but still plays iheart  radio when requested.

This the same symptom I am having on my Google Nest. Were you also trying to stream radio stations in Singapore?

Same. We have been able to listen to Singapore radio stations via TuneIn for a long while but this has suddenly changed.  TuneIn was able to play an Aussie radio station but is haywired on Singapore stations.

Update in Australia, my old unit is now working after I took it to another room turned it off and restarted it. It could not stream my local FM station in regional NSW Australia. It was trying to use RadioApp and Tune in and would not stream. Happy days guys! Try this it may work..

seems like there is a problem with streaming software (rss feed) launching.

I'm facing the same issue with the Google nest hub, but no problem with the Google Home Smart Speaker. Very strange.

It is working for me for Singapore channels now. Not sure if there a update but I disconnected my router and it worked when connected again. Good luck all!
