Hi! I've had my marshall wifi speaker set up for about two years now, when yesterday the voice activation stopped working. It reacted to the voice command but didn't actually do anything after. Then I factory reset the speaker and now it won't connect anymore. The Google home up recognizes the speaker but tells me the device needs to be set up first (?). The marshall App doesn't recognize the device at all. The manual states, the speaker needs to be connected to the wifi via the Google home App first.
Any ideas how I can connect my speaker again?
Thanks!

Hi David!
Thanks for the reply! I managed to connect to the speaker via the Device Utility app, but when trying to connect it to the local Wi-Fi i get this error message:
We couldn't authenticate your Marshall Stanmore II. Please visit support.google.com/chromecast for help troubleshooting this issue.
When trying the Google Home app, it gets stuck on trying to connect to the local Wi-Fi as well. Any ideas?

Hey ShellyD,
Thanks for updating the Community forum of your resolution — it's a big help! It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else.

Edit:
After another factory reset I managed to authenticate the speaker but as soon as I choose a local Wi-Fi to connect to I get another error message:
Connection problem during setup
Could not communicate with your Marshall Stanmore II.
I already tried rebooting the router to no avail. Password is correct (copy pasted from my phone's working connection).
I also tried switching on and off the wifi connection as mentioned in the post above.

Same problem here. Tried to use the device utility app, but it kept telling me to turned of and turn on my wifi - so no luck in using that.
Still same problem with my Marshall - Google home findes it, an connect to it. But when it wants to connect to wifi using the password, an error occurs 😕

Happy to see others that have the same problem as me. It shows that it should be server side, and not device one, so it should be fixable easily.
One thing to notice is that the speaker does briefly connect to wifi (I see it on my network), but disconnect after the error message on Google appear

Hey folks,
Chiming in, please note that we have very limited support on third party speakers with built-in Google Assistant like Marshall Stanmore. If you've done basic troubleshooting steps, like rebooting, and resetting your speaker, and still won't set up the device. I suggest, you reach out to the manufacturer for additional steps.
Let us know if you have questions about the Google Home/Nest speakers and displays, otherwise, we'll lock the thread after 24 hours.

Exact same problem here, thought the unit had suddenly developed a fault. Fingers crossed for a fix. Thanks for the info.
