My Issues - known yet unresolved for years

The Google WiFi app had hardly any issues. Except for key features removed with Google Home app, it was quite reliable and issue-free.

A player like Google, with a vast army of great tech minds, has bafflingly managed to decrease quality and features with each release. most disappointing is their by now expected lack of resolving major issues.

I find it rather disrespectful to ignore community members problems by closing unresolved threads after some time. Closing threads indicating frequent/serious issues that affect a large number of customers is simply insulting, defeatist and in breach of the established etiquette of software communities.

This is hardly the image Google want to portray, but they seem not to care. I predict that sticking their heads in the sand by ignoring issues AND customers will prove to be exponentially more expensive than the path they are stuck in.

The best way forward would be to have a user driven backlog of improvements based on reports from your members. The data is readily available.

HI hauklandsverk2,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are disappointed with some features on the Google Home app, and I'm happy to assist you! I apologize for any inconvenience this is causing.

Could you please tell me more details about the features that are disappointing to you?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Hi, and thanks for offering help

One shared by many customers is https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Double-entries-on-DHCP-reservation-list/m-p/679356#...

I have the same issue. I first noticed it a couple of months back. This is an issue regardless of what Device you access Google home on. there seems to have been a few other issues occurring at the same time:

  1. Some devices connect and disconnect tens of times per day
  2. Once in a while the guest network disappears, and the devices on this IP range are listed in the normal network device list, but all of them listed as wired
  3. Logs have become hopelessly unreliable, sometimes showing device histories and sometimes not. The same with device lists for seven and 30 days.
  4. Known devices reconnecting often register as unknown devices, are logged as such, but seconds later the known device is listed and the unknown device will never again connect
  5. Functionality available to the iOS app is gradually disappeared. One response from Google was that this was due to increased security features. Nevertheless, the functionality is still available in the android version, meaning that this answer cannot be trusted.
