Nest Hub Max Won't Power On

Hi,

My Nest Hub Max won't power on anymore.  No signs of life at all.  Nothing happened to it that would cause damage. I confirmed the power supply output voltage is correct with a multimeter.

Based on similar posts, I tried the following:

"

Discharge the speaker or display:

  1. Unplug the power adapter from the outlet and the speaker or display.
  2. Leave it unplugged for 20 seconds.
  3. Plug the power adapter into the speaker or display.
  4. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet that works.
  5. Check if any LED lights would appear on the back of the speaker or display.
  6. If you have a second Nest Hub Max, try to use the power adapter from the one that currently works."

Still nothing happens at all.

I bought the unit in the US with Google staff discount, but I am in Switzerland. The unit worked fine here for years already.

Is there anything else I can try? Is there an internal replaceable fuse (I'm an electronics tech)?

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi Bryan_W,

Thanks for bringing this up.

We're sorry to hear about this experience. I also appreciate the details you've shared. We can still offer you to replace the Google Nest Hub Max, however, we can only do that if you're in the US.

Best,

Princess

Is it possible that I can provide some evidence of the failure without having to return it in the US (or return it in the EU), then I could provide a colleague's address to receive the replacement unit on my behalf in US (or EU)?

Unit serial number: 01040YCAB0ET8P

Unfortunately the warranty expired in 2021. Is it still possible Google would replace the unit?

Hey Bryan_W,

Thanks for the information. We got your form! I already sent you an email. Unfortunately, we can no longer replace your device because it is out of warranty since February 2021. This is based on the serial number that you've provided. If you think that your device should still be under warranty, please provide the official receipt so we can update our records. Visit this link for more information about Google's limited warranty information.

Also, please note that posting the serial number of your device in public is not allowed here in the Community. I suggest that you edit or remove the serial number as it is considered as a private information. Check Google Help Communities Content Policy for more information.

Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about your device, otherwise; we'll be closing the tread after 24 hours.

Cheers,
