I have had my nest hub max for a couple of years, and suddenly two days ago it stopped playing music thru Spotify. I am not connecting it to any other speakers. I think a software update happened which broke the device.
When I ask it to play a song on Spotify, it will show the song playing on Spotify but no music will come out. The audio on the device works except for songs. If I switch audio to play on my phone instead of the speaker it works fine. It’s pretty clear this device is the issue.
my troubleshooting steps so far
1. Unplug and wait a few minutes before plugging back in
2. Factory reset the device by holding both audio buttons.

I recommend checking if your music provider accounts are linked to your Nest Hub. To do this, visit Check which Google Account is linked to a speaker or display
