Nest Speaker will error out after 1 snooze

Hi All,

when i go to bed, I set a 5:50 am alarm on my Nest Mini, and it works without fail and the first time I request a snooze, it works with no issue (for 10 minutes)...

But then at 6:00 am the alarm rights and I ask for another snooze (i like 3 alarms, it's a habit)... and the speak will pause, and say something went wrong, and try again later.  At this point, the alarm is now gone and from then on no additional alarm/snooze will happen.

I have created a work around and request a 2nd alarm at 6:10 when i go to bed, but i would prefer the nest work as expected.  This is a new "bug" as it worked fine for the last few years.

Your thoughts/ideas/solutions, please

Hi dwiseman,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: is it only happening on your Nest Mini? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Is the issue happening with general alarms, media alarms or character alarms? Have you tried the steps provided above? How was it?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

See this guide for more information and troubleshooting.

Thanks for helping, RachelGomez123!

Best,

Dan

Hi dwiseman,

Thank you for trying the provided steps. Let’s try to revert your Nest Mini to its default and original settings by doing a factory reset. Here’s how:

  1. On the side of your device, switch the mic off.
  2. The lights will turn orange.
  3. Hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top.
  4. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process.
  5. Keep holding for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Dan
