This issue started a week or so ago. Both the speaker pairs I have (GH Minis) have stopped working. They appear in the Home App, but if I try to cast to them I get the message from the primary speaker in the pair "I can't connect to the other speaker in this pair. Make sure it's connected to power and wifi." They are both powered and connected to wifi.
I've tried rebooting, unpairing and re-pairing, power cycling my router, everything short of factory resetting all 4 devices. Since this is two distinct pairs having the same issue, it seems more like a bug than a one-off.
All speakers in questions are running System firmware version: 264660 Cast firmware: 1.56.264660
Also if I adjust the volume by touching the speaker, they don't both change volume as one expects with the pair. If I use the home app to adjust the volume, only the primary speaker of the pair changes.

I was having this problem with 2 different pairs of speakers. Current, my dining room speakers aren't working as a pair.
In the google home app, sometimes when this happens a second device will show up in "other devices" and disappear eventually.
Rebooting hasn't helped. Unpairing them and re-pairing them also hasn't helped.
I've had no luck finding a fix. This has to be a firmware problem on Google's end. Every now and then it feels like it's been a few days since they depaired so maybe it's fixed.
Then it does it again.
But just leaving them alone often they eventually pair back up without any intervention.
