Wi-Fi connection

I'm setting up my Google home mini and when I go through everything in the app, I have to manually connect the Wi-Fi because it won't come up on the screen. After I connect, it says connected then says something went wrong. How can I fix this? I’ve already factory reset.

Thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to hear that your set up process is not going smoothly. I would be more than happy to help get your device running and connected. First, I have some questions to get a better understanding of this situation.

  • Is this in regard to the Google Home Mini (1st gen) or Google Nest Mini (2nd gen)?
  • What country are you located in?
  • Are you on the same WiFi network as your other devices? 
  • What type of WiFi do you have? A one-step private connection or a public WiFi that takes you to a landing/login page first?
  • Could you try to connect your device to a hotspot? Does the issue still occur?
