Is there a resolution to this issue? Mine should still be under warranty. Can I initiate a warranty replacement?

If you are a US resident, they will replace your unit. However, it will probably require a LONG phone call and some luck getting a decent tech on other end call support at ############. I had to email a couple of photos and of course send in old unit with pre-paid labels.
