I have owned my mini for a couple of years now and since moving out I’ve tried to set it all up. The app keeps displaying error 83905 whenever it’s tried to set up google assistant I’ve looked into all solutions and have tried but to no avail it still no longer works. I’ve rest it multiple times, redownloaded the app and changed wifi and phones but it still refuses to connect leaving me with a none working speaker.

Hi folks,

@JillG, thanks for the help.

@Jxsy02, we know how challenging it is not having a working device when needed ― let's take a closer look. When did the issue start? What specific Google Home/Nest device do you have? Where are you located? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet for set up?

To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Also, change the language of your set up phone to EN-EN and if deemed necessary, kindly set up your Nest speaker using a different account that has a Google/Gmail domain.

Let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,

Dan

Hi,

Thanks for responding, I did try most of the solutions beforehand and they were unsuccessful. This is because I'm unable to use another device to hotspot. This is the only solution I haven't been able to try, however, I have still not been able to connect to the device.

Hi Jxsy02,

Understood! You can try connecting to another phone anytime. In the meantime, if you could, please create a new account with a Gmail domain and set up your Nest device. By the way, to confirm, what Nest speaker do you have? Is it a Google Home Mini or a Nest Mini? Depending on what it is, do a factory reset one more time and here's how to. Afterwards, proceed with the set up using the new account.

Looking forward to your responses.

Cheers,

Dan
