I was trying to find a way to turn off Mac randomization for hours. Unfortunately it's a default of google's chromecast, that can only be turned off when you connect to the wifi that you want to turn it off with.
I found out that when you input the wifi password and it states that it cannot connect and tells you to either " Try again" or "Show available networks".
Press the "Try again". I know it's not going to work the second time but what you are trying to do is save the password.
Next, go back to the screen that shows you all of the networks and it should say something like "authentication problem". If it does not, that's okay. But, if you were to press the network again it would have to have the password you inputted saved, and that's what we are looking for.
Now this part i had found on a whim but unconnect everything, the chromecast from the tv, the cord that connects to the chromecast, and the cord that connects to the outlet. And just wait about 2-3 minutes before plugging everything back in.
Now this next part is all about timing. After plugging everything in, very quickly you have to go back to your wifi networks and the network you want to connect to should say "connecting".
You are going to click on it and scroll down until you see something that says "Use randomized MAC". Click it, and choose the second option that says "Use device MAC"
The last step is not going to unless you have the password saved for the network.
I am a college student but please email me with any questions and this is how I just connected mines. #
